i got my first ever email from my mom yesterday and it was weird to me because it made me realize i don’t really know what my mom’s writing voice is like. i could immediately tell it was not from my dad, even though sent from his address, because it was all one long paragraph that began with “hey cuties!” 

here is what i think my family’s writing voices are based on their emails:

dad: structured, functional, caring, worried

krissy, sister: nice, bad at typing

jenny, sister: rushed, disorganized, affectionate

mom: silly, self-deprecating “love, your old mammy,” maximalist

i dunno i’m going back to bed.
